| The Central Plains Youth Sports Crest is
more than it may appear at first glance. |
| |
| The crest is comprised of a variety of
shapes, all of which have a baseball lineage.
There is, of course, the standard diamond shapes
representative of the classic baseball playing
fields. |
| |
| To right and left sides are the "bleachers"
which took their shape from the old Western
League Association Ballpark on Ackerman Island
in Wichita in the 1920's and 1930's. |
| |
| The center circle represents the pitching
mound and the inserts the bases of the game. |
| |
| The colors are derived from the grass of the
playing fields and the golden colors of the
Kansas plains. |
| |
| The lettering is classic sports block text
traditional to baseball and other sports. |
